Congratulations... to the Albanian people

By Hysni Gurra
In a short and concise statement with only one sentence, two weeks after the end of the parliamentary elections in Albania, the US Embassy has congratulated the Albanian people, completely ignoring Edi Rama.
“We congratulate the people of Albania on the parliamentary elections and look forward to continuing our close partnership with Albania,” the official response published on the Embassy’s social media says.
The statement emphasizes the citizens and not the management and outcome of the elections, reflecting a careful and targeted diplomatic stance.
In its message, the Embassy not only does not congratulate, but avoids any mention of the winner of the elections, neither support nor endorsement is offered, but continuity is mentioned.
Usually, these statements mention the fact that the elections were held peacefully and in accordance with international standards and congratulate the winner. This time this did not happen, and the Embassy’s congratulations are a denunciation of the electoral farce.
I should read Rama's lack of congratulations as a message that not only does he know what he has done with the elections, but Washington also knows.
This approach suggests the US's commitment to Albanian institutions and citizens, regardless of internal political dynamics, by supporting a stable and long-term relationship between the two countries.
And the fact that all the media outlets that have Edi Rama as editor-in-chief in Albania have come out with the headline: "US certifies elections", clearly shows that they have a problem, a very big problem and are trying to quickly manipulate Albanians with false headlines.
Did the US run out of words, which only wrote one line???
Or is the real title of this message: "US stamps elections in Albania".
For anyone who has a memory, let's go and look for how the US Embassy congratulated Edi Rama in the 2021 elections. Below is Yuri Kim's message:
"Congratulations to Prime Minister @ediramaal on the official start of his historic third term. The US looks forward to working intensively with AL to strengthen democracy, defense, and business. Congratulations and success!", Kim wrote on Twitter.
The fear that has gripped Edi Rama cannot be covered by the speculative headlines of the media directed by him.
