Këshilli i Evropës refuzon presionin politik mbi GJEDNJ-në

Sekretari i Këshillit të Evropës, Alain Berset, mbron pavarësinë e Gjykatës Evropiane të të Drejtave të Njeriut, duke theksuar rëndësinë e ruajtjes së paanshmërisë së saj mes debateve të vazhdueshme mbi migracionin.

"Debati është i shëndetshëm, por politizimi i Gjykatës nuk është. Në një shoqëri të qeverisur nga sundimi i ligjit, asnjë organ gjyqësor nuk duhet t'i nënshtrohet presionit politik", shkruan Sekretari i Përgjithshëm i Këshillit të Evropës, Alain Berset, në një mesazh të publikuar të shtunën.

Përgjigja e Këshillit të Evropës është në përgjigje të letrës që qeveria e Giorgia Melonit nënshkroi së bashku me tetë vende të tjera evropiane duke bërë thirrje për një ndryshim në Konventën Evropiane për të Drejtat e Njeriut.

"Më 22 maj 2025, me iniciativën e Danimarkës dhe Italisë, nëntë shtete anëtare të Këshillit të Evropës - përfshirë Austrinë, Belgjikën, Çekinë, Estoninë, Letoninë, Lituaninë dhe Poloninë - publikuan një letër të përbashkët duke bërë thirrje për një 'bisedë të re dhe të hapur' mbi mënyrën se si Gjykata Evropiane e të Drejtave të Njeriut interpreton Konventën Evropiane për të Drejtat e Njeriut", shkruan Berset në mesazh.

“Shqetësimi i tyre lidhet me gjykimet mbi migracionin. Këto janë sfida komplekse dhe demokracitë duhet të mbeten gjithmonë të hapura për reflektim përmes kanaleve të duhura institucionale. Por qartësia është thelbësore”, shpjegon Berset.
