Cutting down trees for Noizy/Teliti concert: Legal violation

Tirana Municipal Council member Dorian Teliti said that the decision to destroy 42,934 m² of greenery in Lake Park where a Noizy concert will be held has not been passed by the Municipal Council and that there has been no information regarding this situation.

Invited to MCN TV, Teliti said that this decision-making is a major legal violation and the acting president must be held responsible.

Teliti: Zero information, absolutely it has not passed to the Municipal Council. It is a decision made by the Executive Authority of the Municipality of Tirana itself without asking, discussing and obtaining the approval of the Municipal Council, because we are talking about alienation of the use of the property. It was public property, we see that it will be misused for a business activity to hold concerts like the one on the 30th, of the one who made the tallava campaign for the prime minister. It is in total violation of the law. It was a surprise for us, but not so much because we have seen these violations being committed over the last 12 years. Unfortunately, that green crown is being bitten by buildings, palaces and towers, it continues to be bitten by the noise in the heart of the lake park that instead of adding to the greenery of Tirana, we go build and turn to the other side to carry out commercial activities.

Who made the decision? We will clarify these days, but normally the highest authority of the Municipality of Tirana, starting from the mayor, that the Municipal Council has not made this decision. Automatically, the other authority is the mayor. The mayor will come forward and bear legal responsibility regarding the fact that how is it possible that an area of 40 thousand m2 is taken.

We are in the midst of a major legal violation that we will pursue and uncover day by day with the opportunities we have.

Today is May 25th and tomorrow is the last day to announce the City Council meeting for the month of May.
