A serious incident occurred in Peqin, where a 6-year-old boy was found without signs of life on the banks of the Shkumbin River.

The minor, who was missing for 3 hours, was searched by his grandmother. Preliminary examination revealed no signs of violence and it is suspected that he drowned in the river.

"Around 19:50 on 10.06.2025, citizen DA reported that her 6-year-old nephew had been missing for 3 hours. Immediately, the Police services launched a search to find the minor and around 21:30, they found his lifeless body, on the banks of the Shkumbin River, specifically in the "Çezme" neighborhood. During the preliminary examination of the minor's body, no signs of violence were found and from the investigations so far, it is suspected that he drowned in the river. The procedural materials were referred to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, for the purpose of legal assessment of the case ," the police announced.
