Is Albania at risk from radiation in case of nuclear attacks? Expert explains

The risk of radiation in Albania due to the strikes in Iran so far is zero. This result is currently explained by the radiation protection expert at the Institute of Public Health, Dr. Rustem Paci on Top Channel.

"So far there is no data on increased radiation levels there either, because we are in constant contact. Albania has 10 monitoring points that signal every 10 minutes if there is an increase in the level of radioactivity ," says Dr. Paci.

But Albania has a protection plan ready to deal with radiological emergencies, which, based on the level of radiation, if signaled, are accompanied by instructions for the public.

"This plan is about how to protect ourselves, where to go, how long to stay. Emergency teams are activated as soon as the radiation level is signaled ," he adds.

Albania is part of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which makes it a country with rights and obligations, as is the emergency plan in cases of various accidents that may occur in countries that have nuclear power plants.
